PRIVATE RESIDENCE ONE
Long Island, New York
Originally built in the early 1900s, this Georgian colonial mansion has been restored and renovated throughout into a luxury family home.

The main entrance hall was transformed into a palatial gallery hallway by the use of natural limestone slabs, that were carefully crafted and designed to celebrate the arched openings and vistas into adjoining rooms.

The kitchen - formally a small, dark space - situated at the far end of the property, was designed to celebrate the north and south terraces, which was created by opening up the whole north side of the property and adding large french doors. The ceiling height was increased from 8’ to 12’ feet, and beams were added in-keeping with the original architectural language seen in the main hall.
This winter garden kitchen is now a magnificent space featuring 20-30' views - front to back - and has been uniquely designed to house a concealed back-of-house pantry kitchen, whilst still being accessible to the main circulation space.

The oak-stained herringbone floors, set in a black marble border, seamlessly transition from the main hallway and the 14’ x 7’ central island - made from calacatta and absolute Nero marble - which sits proudly in the centre of the space and enjoys the north and south terrace views.
